Education is also very important to me: I share my clinical ophthalmology knowledge with optometry students, because I believe that the close cooperation between ophthalmologists and optometrists can offer the greatest benefit to patients.
My youthful passion, ballroom dancing, is still an integral part of my life; for me, movement is one of the best ways to recharge. I believe that humility toward the profession, continuous improvement, and respect for human relationships are what most strongly define both my work and my life.
Generations for Eye Health
Ophthalmology is my family legacy: both my grandfather and my father were devoted representatives of the profession.
For a long time, I resisted following this path as a third-generation physician, as the arts—music, ballroom dancing, and the art of eloquent speech—were also important parts of my life.
In the end, however, I chose medicine, and after graduating from the University of Medicine in Szeged, I began my professional career in Budapest at the Department of Ophthalmology, where I continue to work to this day.
Throughout my career, I have been involved in ophthalmic ultrasound research, periocular reconstruction and plastic surgery, while the world of contact lenses has accompanied me throughout—especially the possibilities of slowing the progression of myopia.
